Another good thing that happened this week: My favorite LQS held a book signing for me and my new book Cut and Shuffle Quilts. It was very successful - there was only one book left at the end. My friend Cherie took a photo of me signing a book for her:

And another good thing: I've made progress on a current WIP, Antler Dance. I started making the blocks as teaching samples for my upcoming Cut and Shuffle workshop, and I've kind of kept going, and going. I have almost all of the light blocks finished, and all of the Block Mamas made for the dark blocks.
Antler Dance Blocks
In Cut and Shuffle Quilts, all of the projects start with a parent block that I call the Block Mama. It's a simple framed square which you can see at the upper left in the photo above. I cut it into pieces, shuffle them around, reassemble them nine-patch style, and the result is a new block. The Block Mama shown here will become an Antler Dance block like the ones around the outside above. Block Mamas with a bone center and print frame will become the other Antler Dance blocks like the one in the center. Antler Dance will end up looking like this:

I'm linking up with Freshly Pieced and Sew Fresh Quilts. Check out all the other good things happening over there.
