Work in progress 7/3/2013

STLMQG has issued a challenge to create a quilt featuring the Ohio Star Block, due in September.
Here are the fabrics I'm using:

Modern enough? We'll see...

Progress so far: some wonky flying geese units.

This is the only post I can show about this project until the big reveal at the September STLMQG meeting.  I'll show the finished quilt then. Until then, my challenge is to make this look modern.

Linking up with WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced.  Check out what other talented quilters are working on today!

  1. I love flying geese in all shapes and sizes–your colorful geese are already an indication it's going to be a great quilt. I can't wait to see how you modernize your quilt design.

  2. I really like the look of a traditional block made modern. Love your wonky geese and look forward to seeing your Ohio stars.

  3. Oh Jan, look how prolific your posting has been already!! My posting has been on hiatus, again, and you're postings are just the nudge (challenge) I need to get back to it :) Was it hard for you to do liberated flying goose blocks? Seems like they might be out of your comfort zone??? They look terrific!
