Virtual design - Need your opinion please

I'm playing with luminosity.  One way to achieve luminosity is to use a dark "grille" between the viewer and the illuminated background. 

Before I invest in expensive fabric, I'm experimenting in EQ7.  I know I want to use Kaffe Fasset fabrics for their rich colors, and the print in yesterday's stash report will establish the warm, vibrant color palette. I can use a black batik for the dark foreground.  For quickly testing the effect, I'm using a simple Churn Dash block and sashing.

Which effect do you like better: all one print, or many different prints? Are many prints too busy? About 16 were used in 25 blocks.

    There is more light in the sample with many different prints. My eye traveled over this quilt easier then the one with one print. And I LOVE Kaffe Fasset fabric!

    I like the second option too. I agree with comment 2 and 3- the fabrics do sparkle.

    Like those above, I'd go with many different prints. It reminds me of stained glass and I love how it pops.

    Definitely the second with many prints!!! A large variety of prints adds so much interest to the eye and gives the light more areas to bounce off of in different angles :)

    The mixed prints look way more interesting. The single print quilt looks "flat" in comparison.

    The second print arrangement looks better/clearer to me. The colors are muddy in the first one to me.

    I too, have worked a lot to put luminosity in my quilts. I actually succeeded with some Kaffe fabrics for Quiltmaker's Scrap Squad. The only pictures I've posted are here http://www.quiltmaker.com/blogs/quiltypleasures/2013/12/qm-scrap-squad-kaffe-is-star-struck/ if the link works.
