Unacceptable Comments from Unwanted Followers

Does anyone know how to contact Bloglovin' to report unwanted followers and unacceptable comments? I've been getting new followers - at least one a week - and per their profiles they're not interested in quilting. The followers seem to be on the Bloglovin' platform.

I've also been getting a lot of comments of an unacceptable nature. Many of the comments are for months-old posts. Yesterday's comment started with "LET'S F***"  (spelled out in all caps) and today's comment is just as bad but more descriptive. I've reported the issue to Blogger several times and included screen shots of the offending comments.

I have comment moderation on so I can prevent this trash from showing in the comments that my readers can see, but I still have to deal with it. I don't want this stuff coming into my email. I don't like having to take extra steps to mark it spam and delete it.

I searched Bloglovin' and cannot find a Contact Us feature. If anyone knows how to contact them, please let me know. At the very least, I would like to be able to approve a potential follower before they're allowed to follow my blog. Even better, I would like for Bloglovin' to filter the profiles of potential followers and filter out anything of a sexual nature.

Any advice you can give would be welcome. Thanks.

  1. I’m sorry that this happens. I don’t understand why people do these things. I’m sorry that I can’t help.

  5. I get lots of "followers" from Bloglovin. They pretty much all appear to be sex bot accounts. At least, I assume they're bots. I haven't looked into it to see if anything can be done to block them. I don't know why they subscribe other than that they hope for reciprocity.

  6. I had a couple in the days following the Blogger changeover and, like yours, they were on very old posts. Nothing lately, though. If I get more, I'll stop blogging.

  7. What a pain Jan. I did a quick search and I couldn't find anything either. I use Wordpress so don't know much about Blogger. Hope you find a solution though.

  8. I've gotten several of those comments, as well. It certainly won't stop me from blogging, but it is extremely annoying!

  9. I get them too, and I've clicked on everything trying to find a way to block them. Years ago we could block those types of followers. Of course, I figure they'll just come back in another form, but it would help my mind to be able to block them.

  10. In my Blogger settings, I have my blog set so that it is NOT visible to search engines. I don't know for certain but I think that helps cut down on some of the bot nonsense. Comments are also set for only those with a Google account. You may already be using these options - but thought I'd pass it along anyway.

  11. Well Jan, here is my take. With fame comes some funk.
I have my fair share of "Bloglover" followers. I tell myself - my blog and my writing attracts all and sundry :-D It does not bother me. Hope you can ignore them too.

  12. I see there's some confusion between Blogger and Bloglovin. I don't have any problems with Bloglovin, but my work email address has somehow been added to a spam list somewhere and I get loads of inappropriate messages every day. In Bloglovin you can click on your photo in the top right hand corner, and then Help is at the bottom. I've seen these links that may be of interest. https://help.bloglovin.com/hc/en-us/articles/360007931853-How-to-block-unwanted-followers-on-Bloglovin-

I don't read any comments on Bloglovin - only ones that are on my blog and I restrict them to people with Google accounts, and apply moderation for comments on posts over 7 days old.

  14. When you first read this I hadn't had any of these nasty unacceptable comments. And now I have had three. Did you figure out anything for reporting them?
