Olive Basket Weave Flimsy

This UFO is moving right along. The blocks are now sewn together and framed with borders, bringing the flimsy to 59 x 68".

Although it looks solid in these photos, the olive is actually a tone-on-tone print. The narrow purple border contrasts well with it, and complements the purples used in the blocks.

This flimsy will go into the to-be-quilted pile. Since it's such an autumnal palette, it may have to wait until fall to be quilted. It will eventually be a donation quilt.

  3. The purple is a great first border and I like how the uniform use of the olive makes the blocks seem to float out.

  4. It looks great! You're right that it is very autumnal. Those colors will be especially appealing in a few months when we're all sick of the hot weather :)

  5. Although I don't always like plain borders I think this border is just terrific on this quilt. The combination of colors is so good and I don't think of it as autumn at all. To me it is colorful and cheerful and nothing more. Great finish!
